Copper Marans Hatching Eggs
This listing is for a half dozen (6) Copper Marans hatching eggs. Hatching eggs are only straight run, sex cannot be determined prior to hatch for any type of hatching eggs. Chicks will be straight run at hatch, male or female cannot be determined. They will be a mix of Blue Copper or Black Copper in color. I cannot send only Blue Copper or only Black Copper at this time with how my breeding pens are set.
Minimum to ship is one dozen (12). Half dozens can be combined with any other varieties listed and available. Maximum is three dozen (36) per shipment. The eggs pictured are not the exact eggs that will be sent, but represent what our breeding birds generally produce. Egg color will be darkest right after molting and naturally lighten throughout the breeding season. Egg color from the same hen will vary from day to day, especially if they are heavily speckled. Blue Copper Marans eggs tend to be slightly ligher in shade than the Black Coper Marans. Egg color is not guaranteed. Egg color genetics are complicated and we cannot guarantee that every chick hatched will lay dark brown eggs. We do our best to strategically breed for dark brown eggs with speckling.
Hatching eggs are a significant risk, especially when shipped. Marans eggs are even more of a risk because they are more difficult to hatch than other varieties of hatching eggs to begin with. This is due to their thick membranes and heavy pigment layer making it difficult for moisture to escape the shell during incubation. While we do our best to send only the highest quality eggs and do fertility testing, we cannot control what happens to the eggs during shipping or incubation. We do everything we can to pack your hatching eggs to give them the best chance at arriving intact. With this in mind, there are no refunds or replacements on hatching eggs regardless of hatch rate achieved. By placing an order, you agree to this policy. Marans eggs are more difficult to hatch than other varieties of hatching eggs due to their thick membranes and heavy pigment layer making it difficult for moisture to escape the shell during incubation.
*This variety is recognized by the American Poultry Association and can be shown in 4-H breeding pens. However, we cannot guarantee that every chick will be show quality. Check your chicks against the Standard. of Perfection as they develop to determine their quality.
